Why can’t people seem to do their jobs correctly?  How many times have you interacted with a person who is supposed to be providing a service but doesn’t seem to know what they’re doing?  Was their training insufficient to prepare them for their job?  A day doesn’t go by without customers being sent the wrong products, service reps providing inaccurate information, managers not managing correctly, deadlines not being made, and technological mistakes.  Robert Shank, author of Designing World-Class E-Learning, said, “Many screw-ups go undetected at first because it’s hard to keep track of everyone in a large organization.  (Plus, if people are expert at nothing else, they’re expert at covering up their mistakes.)”  An E-Learning system will streamline a business by saving time and money through imparting valuable knowledge in its employees.
